David Licauco as Fidel

What do the netizens have to say about the acting of David Licauco in last night's episode? Read on and find out.

Fans of the hit fantasy portal series Maria Clara at Ibarra could not get over the 'strong acting' of Kapuso actor David Licauco in last night's episode and showered him with praises on social media.

In the January 16 episode, Klay (Barbie Forteza) and Fidel (David) found Elias (Rocco Nacino) on the forest floor, bleeding after he was hit when the Guardia Civil shot into the forest. From him, the two found out that Crisostomo Ibarra (Dennis Trillo) was able to escape capture but is missing.

Elias also revealed how he made a promise to Crisostomo that he will watch over Sisa (Andrea Torres) which caused Klay to break down and cry, questioning if Jose Rizal, the author of the novel the series is based on, hates his characters.

Accused of being 'chill' and not caring for his lost friend, Fidel admitted that he's also scared and worried about losing his best friend as well as Klay. He added how he needs to be strong despite his heart breaking because of the possibility of Crisostomo dying.

On social media, fans noticed the great acting David did in the scene, saying how they felt the emotion in his words when delivering lines.

“Well hats off to @davidlicauco and @dealwithBARBIE for this scene. Grabe, ramdam na ramdam mo yung emosyon ni Fidel kay Klay. I know Barbie is a great actress pero I didn't expect David to be this good,” One netizen commented.

Another netizen commented how David is already a “dramatic actor in the making” for being able to shed a tear on command.

One netizen also praised Barbie's acting but that they wanted to commend David's acting in the scene.

“Fidel ate this scene and left no crumbs. David's potential in acting and Fidel's characterization really went [graph going up emoticon],” they said.

One netizen also mentioned how Fidel “owned” the episode.
