All-out Celebrity Dance Showdown semis on 'Marian'

At the semi-finals of Marian's Celebrity Dance Showdown, five determined teams competed against each other. Celebrity dancer and host Lucy Torres-Gomez was chosen to judge last Saturday’s competition.
For the 1920’s Charleston dance, Carmi Martin and Pekto impressed Lucy. The celebrity judge said that Carmi lived up the 1920's vibe by wearing a vintage inspired dress and even drew a mole on her face to finish her look. Facial expressions and the choreography of the duo also received a thumbs-up from Lucy.
Betong Sumaya and Arny Ross also gave their best shot as they groove to the 1950’s rock & roll dance, Twist.
"It was a beautiful number also. A very happy number. Si Betong, I love how you're smiling from start to finish. Arny also is so pretty, kuhang kuha niya 'yung mood of the dance and I like how you both went into each mood. Kung kembot, kembot talaga, kapag ikot, ikot. Walang half-baked sa movements ninyo and siksik 'yung choreography and very well-rehearsed," Lucy said.
According to Lucy, the funny duo Roadfill Sparks and Boobay owned the 1970’s disco fever dance theme. Lucy quipped, “Simula pa lang Boobay, agaw pansin na agad 'yung buhok mo na puwedeng tirahan ng ibon”.
“Both of you. Naaliw talaga ako,” Lucy added.
It was the 1980’s theme that the husband and wife tandem of Joshua and Jopay Zamora danced for the semi-finals, and Lucy had mixed observations for the dancing couple. She said Joshua is a strong and flawless dancer that any partner would have to keep up with his moves. However, Lucy wished that Jopay could've been a little bit more playful and kikay for the part.
Dasuri Choi and Marika Sasaki captured the attention of the judge when they showcased their snappy movements of the 1990’s fusion of 'Running Man' and 'Roger Rabbit'.
Lucy said, “I like your confidence and how you both go out on the dance floor. You really owned it, parang 'kami 'yung pinakamagaling' 'yung vibe na iginive out. Which is very important in a performance”.
In the end, Lucy announced the winners who will battle it out on the Celebrity Dance Showdown finals. Roadfill Sparks and Boobay plus Betong and Arny Ross will face each other on the dance floor for the final showdown on Marian.
