Bea Alonzo gets emotional over the birthday greeting of Mr. M

Our new Kapuso Bea Alonzo, who'll be celebrating her birthday on October 17, had an advanced celebration on Mars Pa More on Thursday (October 14) and she got teary-eyed when Johnny Manahan, aka Mr. M who's also now a Kapuso, sent a video greeting for her birthday.

During Bea's first-ever guest appearance on Mars Pa More, hosts Iya Villania and Camille Prats had a touching birthday celebration for Bea.

Aside from the warm welcome, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a birthday cake, they also presented a surprise birthday greetings video to Bea.

Among the celebrities who greeted Bea on her birthday were fellow new Kapuso actress Pokwang and her friend Bea Saw.

But it was the birthday greeting of Mr. M that moved Bea to tears.

“Hi, Bea. I want to wish you a very happy birthday,” Mr. M said in the video. “Alam mo naman hindi ako gumagawa nito, 'yung mga ganito. But for you, (I did). Special ka. You're special to me. And I hope you have a very nice birthday and a very successful career here at GMA. Love you.”

“Mr. M, I love you so much. Alam na alam mo 'yan. Super,” Bea said after watching the video.

Then as tears started welling up her eyes, Bea exclaimed, “Na-emotional ako!”

Bea said she was so touched because she knows Mr. M doesn't really do birthday greetings. Plus, the renowned director and star builder has a special place in Bea's heart.

“For me, kasi siyempre 20 years ago nung kinuha niya ako as his talent, nung wala pang nagtitiwala sa'kin, at siya palang unang-unang nagtiwala sa akin, parang inaakay niya ako ng mga panahon na 'yon eh,” she said.

“And ito, this is one of the biggest shifts in my life. Inaakay niya pa rin ako. Nandun pa rin siya to show his support. So, it was for me ha, malaking-malaking bagay 'yon. I really appreciate it,” she added.
