Sunshine Dizon's choice, Marilyn or Darlene?

Last June 30, 2013 at the mall show of Mundo Mo’y Akin, GMANetwork.com had a chance to interview Ms. Sunshine Dizon who plays the role of Perlita Mendoza, the mother of Marilyn (Louise delos Reyes) in the top-rating primetime series.

“We’re very happy. Madaming tao.” Sunshine enthused upon seeing the influx of people who went to their mall show.

GMANetwork.com asked how she feels about playing the dramatic role of Perlita?

“Actually, it’s very easy to play the character since I’m also a mom. Siguro, more of iyong distinction lang na dapat maiba siya from all the other characters that I played before,” shared the veteran actress.

In the story, Marilyn grew up knowing Perlita as her true mom. Darlene (Lauren Young), on the other hand had no clue that she is the real daughter of Perlita. Marilyn who lived with Perlita all her life was forced to move out, to be with the Carbonels, her real family; while Darlene is now trying to replace Marilyn in Perlita’s heart.

When asked who will she choose between the two, “Mahirap papiliin dahil dugo iyong isa, iyong isa naman lumaki sa iyo,” says Sunshine

How about in the story, who will Perlita choose? “I don’t know, we’ll see kung sino.”

She further explained,“I think Perlita is giving Darlene a chance naman in the story. So, I think that’s a good start dahil anak niya naman talaga si Darlene.”

“Kasi si Perlita naman, parang ever since, had a soft heart for Darlene Because, hindi siya nabibigyan ng attention when she was younger,” recalls Sunshine who sympathizes with Darlene in the story.

We also asked Sunshine about her working relationship with Louise and Lauren. “Lauren is easy to get along with. It’s a pleasure to work with her. Mabait and kalog,” she reveals about the new Kapuso actress.

As for Marilyn, Sunshine declared what Marilyn’s position in Perlita’s heart is. “In the story, talagang number one sa puso ni Perlita si Marilyn so given na iyon.”

She further described Louise delos Reyes who played the role of Marilyn. “She’s very simple, easy to get along with.”

Sunshine disclosed that she can relate with their scenes in Mundo Mo’y Akin. “Always naman iyon eh kasi if you can’t relate to the character, to the scene, you won’t be able to play it well. That’s why the show works because we can all relate to it.”

She however cleared that this doesn't mean her she and Perlita share the same story. “My life is totally different from Perlita.”
