Lexi Gonzales

Rising Kapuso star Lexi Gonzales plays the role of a dating app developer in GMA Public Affairs' newest fantasy rom-com series, 'My Fantastic Pag-ibig.'

StarStruck Season 7 First Princess Lexi Gonzales will be starring in her first-ever lead role in GMA Public Affairs's much-awaited fantasy rom-com anthology titled My Fantastic Pag-ibig.

Lexi will be pairing up with her fellow StarStruck alum, Kim De Leon, who was hailed as the season's Ultimate Male Survivor.

In the 2-part series, she will be portraying a charming dating app developer named Lovelyn Donato.

“Ang role po na gagampanan ko ay si Lovelyn Donato. Siya po ay masipag sa kanyang trabaho bilang app developer ng MatchMaker. Lahat ng paghihirap at pagpupursigi niya ay ginagawa niya para sa kanyang pamilya pero magkakagulo lahat when she starts to trust and fall for a guy,” Lexi said in an interview with GMANetwork.com.

The actress also shared her preparations ahead of the show's lock-in taping.

“To prepare naman po for this character, I made sure na nabasa ko po talaga 'yung buong script, inaral ko 'yung script and for Lovelyn, hinanap ko 'yung objectives niya, 'yung dreams niya, tsaka 'yung pains niya, frustrations niya,” she said.

Since the workforce during the filming of the series was minimized in accordance with the safety protocols against COVID-19, Lexi, who came on the shoot location with no personal assistant or makeup artist, likewise related that she has brought everything she needed on the set.

“Personal wise naman, dinala ko lahat ng kailangan ko on set of course para wala na ring problema and siyempre kasi bawal magsama so ikaw lang talaga for yourself.

“Of course, nandiyan naman 'yung mga staff to help you pero kailangan pa rin talaga kaya mong i-handle 'yung sarili mo when everyone else is busy.

Aside from the whole cast's script reading sessions prior to the shoot, Lexi shared that she and Kim had made separate initiatives to help them deliver their lines and characters more accurately.

“Kami naman po ni Kim we made sure na nag-i-script reading kami before we go on set. Alam namin 'yung state ng isa't isa. Marami rin po kaming ginawang ibang preparations mismo on the set like para po sa heavy scenes, ganyan. Naging successful naman 'yung shoot namin, so I'm really excited to watch it on TV,” she noted.

My Fantastic Pag-ibig is composed of six mini-series for the first season, and its first installment titled “Love Wars” stars Kim and Lexi.

It follows the story of star-crossed lovers - a modern-day cupid and a dating app developer.

The cupid, played by Kim, believes dating apps only result in broken hearts and diminish people's belief in finding their true love.

To prevent a bad premonition from happening, Milos/Pido tries to sabotage the progressive company of dating app called “MatchMaker,” where he will meet the dashing app developer Lovelyn, portrayed by Lexi.

Actors including Rodjun Cruz, Divine Aucina, Maey Bautista, and Mike Liwag are part of the series as well.

Directed by Michael Christian Cardoz, the fantasy-romcom series is set to bring magic, laughter, and “kilig” starting January 30 on GMA News TV.

Kapuso abroad may also watch My Fantastic Pag-ibig on GMA Life TV starting February 6.
