The Department of Education (DepEd)-7 has assured that no student will be barred from enrolling just because the student failed to bring all the requirements for enrollment.

DepEd-7 said a student may still be enrolled and fulfill requirements at a later time.

“Bisa’g wala silay card, for example… for example transferees from other regions, from other municipalities, unya di pa gyud sila kadala sa card, they will be enrolled temporarily as long as naay maka-vouch nga mao gyud na siya. Dawaton gyud ang bata, di gyud sya balibaran,” said Maurita Ponce, Chief Education Supervisor of DepEd-7’s Curriculum and Learning Management Division.

DepEd also emphasized that enrollment is free and monetary contributions from students are discouraged.

DepEd-7 made the assurance as public primary schools roll out the enrollment for school year 2026-2027.

The ‘Brigada Eskwela’ will be conducted from June 1 to 5, 2026 before classes begin on June 8.

“We are done with the training sa atoang Phase 3 nga last hurrah nato sa atoang revised curriculum, which is Grade 6, 9, and 10, as well as giapil nato ang strengthen senior high nga Grade 11,” Ponce said.

DepEd admits there are still places that are struggling with classroom shortages like those in northern Cebu that took a brunt from an earthquake and typhoon in 2025.

Ponce said they have found ways to ensure classes won't be compromised.
