EXCLUSIVE: Sophie Albert reveals portraying Amber in 'Pamilya Roces' made her more comfortable with herself

Sophie Albert is probably the biggest revelation on television this year as she portrays a sexy and funny character in the primetime series Pamilya Roces.

She plays the role of Amber, the illegitimate child of Rodolfo Roces (Roi Vinzon) to former backup dancer Violet Bolocboc (Elizabeth Oropesa). Amber is edgy and uses her body to attract attention.

Sophie shared in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com during the Sunday PinaSaya's Kapuso Fans Day last October 28 that playing Amber made her get out of her comfort zone.

She said, "Masaya siya actually, very far sa totoong buhay pero parang natutulungan din ako ng pagiging bakla sa opening up."

"Feeling ko I'm more comfortable now with myself kasi I'm getting out of my shelf because of playing the role of Amber. "

"Dapat malayo 'yung hiya mo roon. So parang slowly, nawawala rin siya nang konti."

If you're following the story of Pamilya Roces, it currently focuses on Amber and Hugo's (Rocco Nacino) secret affair. But instead of hating her character, Sophie felt grateful that most of the viewers are actually amused by her portrayal.

"Natutuwa sila sa kanya, instead na i-hate siya. Natatawa na lang sila sa kanya, nakyu-cute-an sila sa pinaggagawa niya instead na mairita."

"So for me that's an accomplishment 'yung maging kontrabida ka [tapos] hindi ka kinaiinisan," she said.
