Michael V shares formula for Pepito Manaloto's success

Last January, Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay na Kuwento won Best Comedy/Gag show at the 13th edition of Gawad Tanglaw (Gawad Tagapuring mga Akademisyan ng Aninong Gumagalaw).

Gawad Tanglaw is an award giving body whose members are from the academe.

For the creative director and head honcho of Pepito, Michael V, the show’s success is attributed to the program’s concept, which is not only to make the viewers laugh but to educate them as well.

Michael V explained, “Siguro dahil nga maraming nakakarelate at maraming istorya na kapupulutan ng aral. Tama ‘yung balanse siguro nung paglalagay ng values, ng comedy and at the same time nalalagyan mo ng kapirasong drama, kapirasong kilig.”

Direk Bert de Leon for his part said that everyone working in the show, from the stars down to the production people, is dedicated to make a high quality show.

“Kasi collectively lahat nag-ta-trabaho. Gusto kasi natin pagandahin ‘yung show eh.

Ronnie Henares, who plays the cunning Tommy, stressed that everybody behind Pepito Manaloto truly cares to give the televiewers the best show there is.

“We care. Starting from of course our creative director to our director, to all of us. We care that we give them the best possible show that we can.”

Moreover, John Feir (Patrick, the best friend of Pepito) observed that there is no big or small part in their comedy program. He quipped that even the guest stars play an important part in the show's storyline.
