'Playful Kiss' is among the K-dramas that were first seen in the country back when the Korean wave was just growing.
Also known internationally as 'Mischievous Kiss' or 'Naughty Kiss,' this romantic-comedy was first released in 2010 and stars Kim Hyun-joong as Baek Seung-jo and Jung So-min as Oh Ha-ni.
It tells the story of heartthrob high school student Baek Seung-jo and his classmate Oh Ha-ni who is not very bright in academics. She finds inspiration in the smart Seung-jo, but when she writes him a letter expressing her feelings--he not only rejects her publicly but corrects her grammar as well and gives her letter a failed grade.
As Ha-ni recovers from the humiliation, an earthquake strikes in their hometown, leaving her house damaged. She and her father move into a family friend's house, and she gets a major surprise when she finds Seung-jo living in the same house.
Take a look at the transformation of the show's lovable cast.

Kim Hyun-joong is Baek Seung-jo, the smart, popular, mysterious guy in school who is too cool for the girls until he becomes close to Oh Ha-ni.
People love Kim Hyun-joong's role as Baek Seung-jo but he is also famous for being a boy band member of SS501 and appearing in 'Boys Over Flowers' and being South Korea's biggest Hallyu star. He is still active in the music industry performing internationally and in South Korea. He is currently holding a monthly virtual concert from April to November 2021.
Jung So-min is Oh Ha-ni, the complete opposite of studious Seung-jo.
Ha-ni is at the bottom tier of their class rankings due to her failing grades, but she eventually finds luck when she moves into a house where Seung-jo lives.
Jung So-min's simple style makes her relatable and lovable to many international fans.
Even after appearing in several famous dramas such as 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim' and 'My Roommate is a Gumiho,' fans on her social media still reminisce on her days as Oh Ha-ni.
Lee Si-young is Yoon He-ra, she carries the same confident and elite vibe that Seung-jo has. She's also popular in school for being
attractive and a great student. She has a huge crush on Seung-jo, whom she sees as her equal. Unfortunately for her, this is where the similarity ends as Seung-jo does not reciprocate her feelings.
Lee Si-young is still active in the industry, appearing in dramas like 'My Beautiful Bride,' 'The Guardians,' and 'Sweet Home.'
Outside of acting, Si-young is also into boxing and being on TikTok. She has also become a mom after giving birth to her first child in 2018. She tied the knot in 2017 with her husband Cho Seong-hyun.
Lee Tae-sung is Boon Joon-gu, a lovesick guy who follows Ha-ni around school, trying to get her attention. Though he sincerely likes Ha-ni, he finds it hard to get close to her as she has her eyes set on campus crush Seung-jo.
Lee Tae-sung is still active on television, appearing in dramas such as 'My Golden Life,' 'Ms. Hammurabi,' 'When My Love Blooms,' and 'The Driver.' He also played as a celebrity amateur baseball player and secretly got married in 2012 to a non-showbiz girl. They eventually got divorced after three years of marriage and having a son. In April 2020, he won the hearts of fans when he appeared in a reality show called 'My Little Old Boy' with his mother and showed his life as a single father.
