Nerve-wracking first meeting between Tom Rodriguez and Carla’s dad

The ever-energetic host Tom Rodriguez got weak in the knees when Carla’s dad Rey “PJ” Abellana played on Don’t Lose the Money.
He’s grateful, however, that Rey Abellana didn’t make it awkward or difficult for him.
“It’s a very nerve-wracking thing having met someone for the first time (pero) hindi niya pinaramdam sa ‘kin (yun) that’s why I’m very thankful,” Tom told StarTalk.
Neither of the men in Carla’s life elaborately prepared for the moment but Rey was glad that he felt comfortable around his daughter’s suitor while they were taping.
The episode will air on Monday.
Rey also shared how he hopes to meet Tom in a different setting.
“Magaan naman ‘yung loob ko (habang naglalaro) pero syempre nasa show tayo eh. In character tayo pag nasa trabaho tayo. What I like more is off the camera. Given the chance, (I want to) know the person (better),” Rey admitted.
Rey advised Tom to enjoy and nurture the relationship that he and Carla share.
“Whatever situation, you really have to take care of it para naman (when) worse comes to worst… ay maganda 'yung ending, di ba? Make the most out of it,” he said.
