'Wala akong choice kung hindi maging ready' - Rachelle Ann Go

Rachelle Ann Go is all set for a new chapter both in her personal life and career as she will soon be leaving for London to play Gigi in the West End revival of Miss Saigon.

When producer Cameron Mackintosh asked her if she’s willing to work there, she admitted that she was taken aback.

“’Dun pa lang [sa question na ‘yun], napa-pause talaga ako eh,” she shared. She acknowledged that being part of the musical can open so many doors, but she’s focusing on what is at hand.

“Maraming opportunities, maraming pinto ang magbubukas dito. Di natin alam kung anong offers (ang) maibibigay sa ‘kin after... But for now, sabi ko nga po, I just want to focus on Miss Saigon. ‘Yun na muna,” she said.

The production she’ll take part in will require her to stay in London for fourteen months, so thinking about what will happen after isn’t her priority yet.

“Kung meron pong mga offer, tingnan na lang natin kung dapat ko po ring tanggapin ‘yun or dapat bumalik kaagad ako dito sa Pilipinas kasi syempre, ang dami ko din pong commitments dito. Tingnan na lang natin… kung saan ako dadalhin,” Rachelle added.

In an interview with StarTalk TX, host Joey de Leon asked the 27-year-old singer if there’s a significant other she’ll leave behind. First hesitant, she eventually answered, “Someone is pursuing me, tingnan po natin kung makakatagal, kung makakapaghintay po talaga.”

Rachelle is set to leave in late February, but before her departure, she’ll serenade family, friends and fans in a musical treat. Dubbed “Miss Rachelle: The Send-off Concert,” it will be held on Saturday, February 22, 8 p.m. at the Meralco Theater.

Her guests include Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Mark Bautista and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.
