
The Clash season two finalist Jeniffer Maravilla is no doubt a power belter to reckon with. But how does she take care of that gift?
In an exclusive Skype interview with GMANetwork.com, Jennifer relates the importance of having a healthy regimen for her singing ability. The pretty singer swears by the benefits of cardio exercises as it helps strengthen her core and develops her breathing technique.
Jennifer opens, "Kailangan malakas 'yung baga mo, so talagang ginawa ko lang talaga s'ya [and cardio exercises] para sa craft ko.
"Kasi kailangan po talaga lalo na kapag belter ka na kagaya ko, kailangan talaga 'yung long breathing, 'yung kaya mong i-support 'yung mga note mo."
According to Jeniffer, the best cardio workout that singers can do is swimming as it helps elongate vocal folds, allowing them to raise their pitch.
However, due to the enhanced community quarantine which restricts individuals from staying outdoors, she does exercise at home by following workout videos online.
As part of her no-equipment exercise routine, Jeniffer does planking, jumping jacks, burpees, mountain climbers, and jumping lunges.
"Since nasa bahay lang ako, 'di naman ako nakakapag-jogging, nag-search ako online ng mga puwedeng alternative.
"So ang lagi kong kasama ngayon is 'yung yoga mat."
