'The Clash 2021' surprises fans as shocking twists came early on the competition

By Jansen Ramos

The Clash 2021 surprised fans as shocking twists came early on in the competition as it premiered on Saturday, October 2.

The top 30 Clashers were grouped into three colors: Red, White, and Black. Two of the Clashers Mike Luna and Iris Jule were replaced by Kaye Eliseo and Yvette Celoso due to personal reasons.

Unknown to them, they will be competing with their group mates, with Tawi-tawi's Renz Fernando as the first contender who was chosen by the randomizer.

Renz and the other first two contenders, Mariane Osabel and Toni Santos, had the opportunity to pick whom they wanted to compete with in The Clash's one-on-one round: Renz vs. JP Bacallan, Mariane vs. Kimberly Recto, and Toni Santos vs. Jessa Jane Neri.

Upon the deliberation of the judges Aiai Delas Delas, Christian Bautista, and Lani Misalcuha, Renz, Mariane, and Jessa Jane advanced to the next round.

The surprise didn't stop there as Clash Masters Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz announced that eliminated Clashers will have the chance to go back to the competition. Judges will reveal in this Sunday's episode (October 3, 2021) who among JP, Kimberly, and Toni they would like to see in the succeeding rounds.

Clashers, who will be granted a second chance, will be seated in the blue chairs. However, it doesn't mean that they will automatically advance to the next round because it is still in the panel's decision whether to keep them in the competition or not. The judges have the power to replace the eliminated Clashers seated in the blue chair until the first round finishes.

This twist, called "The Clash Rebound," became an interesting discussion on Twitter, making the pilot episode a trending topic on the micro-blogging site.

"Eto na naman yung mga twists and turns and all that boom-pak-PASABOG ng
