Alden Richards says 'The World Between Us' is his 'best teleserye' to date
Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards admitted that he was initially apprehensive about his upcoming TV series, The World Between Us.
In the show's virtual media conference held recently, Alden recalled, "Actually, nung una kong nabasa 'yung script for The World Between Us, I was a bit apprehensive about it.
"Hindi ako sure kasi [if] the story is based on the novel called Wuthering Heights and I was looking for, you know, different kind of project na more on the acting piece side."
The 29-year-old actor said he had a change of heart about the project when he further read the script and heard the explanation of the story.
He said, "After thorough reading and explanation from the creatives, ibang klase kasi 'to, e.
"When we started taping this, when we started reading about the script, iba 'yung binabasa mo na siya then, naririnig mo siya sa kwento.
"Parang that started the fight within me to create this character na normal na tao, na very relatable."
Alden added, "I guess 'yun 'yung culture natin na as a Filipino viewer is to really watch teleseryes and look for characters that we can claim ourselves into.
"Parang naghahanap tayo ng characters sa mga pinapanood natin na pwedeng mag-represent ng life natin as human beings."
Prior to Louie Asuncion, his character in The World Between Us, Alden played the titular role in Victor Magtanggol (2018) and Sep Apostol in The Gift (2019).
After two lock-in tapings, Alden can now say that The World Between Us is the best teleserye he has ever done.
"With the cast, with the story, with the director, I think this is gonna be one of my best teleseryes in five years.
"No offense to my [previous] projects, I've learned from it, marami akong natutunan, marami akong na-discover from those projects but this project is something different.
"Every single day na gumigising ako for taping, I always look forward to going to the set, not because I have to work, not because I have to earn money.
"It's because of the project. 'Yung passion ko, I think we all share it, we are all on the same page with this.
"We wake up, we go on set to fulfill the requirements of our characters in the story. And I guess that's what makes this teleserye different from all the teleseryes I've done before.
"I'm so happy with this project."
Joining Alden in The World Between Us are Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Tom Rodriguez, Dina Bonnevie, and Ms. Jaclyn Jose.
Also part of the cast are Sid Lucero, Kelley Day, Yana Asistio, Donn Boco, and Jericho Arceo.
