To Have and To Hold actress Carla Abellana surprised her fiancé, The World Between Us actor Tom Rodriguez, during GMA Pinoy TV's FunCon on June 30.

Carla prepared a video message for Tom as she congratulated him on The World Between Us.

"Hi, Daddy! Congratulations for being part of 'The World Between Us.' This is it!" Carla said.

"I know how eager you have been to get back to work, to be part of such an amazing production team, inggit ako sa'yo, to have great co-actors, and to portray yet another challenging role.

"Although this role is not the usual role that you would portray, I can already see, as early as now, how you strongly identify as Brian Libradilla."

In The World Between Us, Tom plays Brian Libradilla, the stubborn and arrogant older brother of Lia (portrayed by Jasmine Curtis-Smith).

Carla added, "I know how hard you work, I know the heart in all the thought that you put into playing a certain character."

"And the good thing is that I know that you are enjoying so far."

"So let's claim that it's going to be a successful show. Let's claim that you will have high ratings, and more importantly, that everybody will stay healthy, and everybody will enjoy it."

Tom and Carla will not see each other for four months because of work.

Tom is currently in the lock-in taping for The World Between Us while Carla is busy on her own teleserye, To Have and To Hold, with Rocco Nacino.

"Although we won't be seeing each other for four months, okay lang 'yan. It's all going to be worth it.

"I guess I would just like to say what you would always remind me to just take it one day at a time, to enjoy the moment, to savor everything, and to just work hard and do your best."

Carla ended her message by jokingly asking Tom to take it easy on Alden Richards's character, Louie Asuncion.

"Hinay hinay lang sa pag-api kay Alden, napag-usapan na natin 'yan, sabi ko sa'yo wag mo masyadong aapihin si Alden at lagot tayo sa mga fans niya," Carla jokingly said.

"Just enjoy. Congratulations to the entire [production] of 'The World Between Us,' God bless everybody, may you all have happy, harmonious set, and I'll see you very, very soon."

Tom took note of Carla's reminders but he admitted it hit him differently when he read the phrase "Fiancée ni Tom" below Carla's name.

"Love you, mama," Tom said after Carla's video message.

"Grabe, ang sarap sarap pala mabasa 'yung 'Fiancée ni Tom.'

"Ang sarap."
