Athena Madrid thanks GMA-7 for giving her the chance to show the world her talent
Landing her role as Grace in the primetime soap To Have And To Hold was no easy feat for newbie actress Athena Madrid.
The sister of Kapuso leading man Ruru Madrid had gone through needle's eye to get her spot in the soap during the audition. Athena also revealed exclusively with GMANetwork.com in July that she was sick with COVID-19 during the audition process.
During the online media conference of To Have And To Hold last Tuesday (September 21), Athena expressed her profound gratitude for her home network for giving her the opportunity to showcase her talents to the public.
She said, “Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala po talaga, lalo na nung sinabi sa akin ng manager ko na magiging part daw po ako ng cast ng To Have And To Hold, as in tinext ko po talaga si Luis [Hontiveros], sobrang tuwang-tuwa ako.”
“Sobrang nakakataba po talaga ng puso, kasi baguhan pa lang ako, pero hindi nila binalewala kung ano 'yung talent man na nakikita nila sa akin. Binigay nila ako ng chance para mapakita sa ibang tao kung ano man 'yung talento na meron ako. So, sobrang thankful po ako sa opportunity na ibinigay sa akin ng GMA-7,” Athena added.
Meanwhile, Entertainment writer Rose Garcia then asked Athena during the panel interview with the outside press how generous as a brother Ruru is toward her.
The younger Madrid shared that her kuya is an incredible person and won't think twice to share his blessings to other people.
The StarStruck alumna explained, “Si Kuya kasi, I mean hindi dahil sa kapatid ko siya, pero nakikita ko sa kanya na parang wala siyang pakialam sa pera talaga, e. 'Pag meron ka gusto, bibilhin niya. Hindi lang dahil sa kapatid niya ako, pero sa lahat talaga ganoon siya. Sobrang generous niyang tao.”
Just like her sister who has been preoccupied shooting her primetime show in the past months, Ruru is currently busy with his big adventure-serye Lolong with Shaira Diaz and Arra San Agustin.
