
Good news to all Filipino Voltes V andVoltes V: Legacy fans!
The legacy continues as a prototype of the Voltes V figure based on the GMA live-action adaptation of the iconic '70s anime was recently displayed at the Bandai Spirits' Tamashii Nation exhibit in Tokyo Japan, the show's director Mark Reyes shared on his Instagram post on Thursday, November 16.
According to Reyes, this is a testament to Pinoy pride because "this is the first robot toy line that is based on a 100 percent Pinoy made live action adaptation of a Japanese anime franchise."
Many toy collectors have expressed their excitement on the potential distribution and selling of the action figure in the Philippines.
For Powerplay Ware, this seemed to be an answered prayer after the Japanese toy company, Bandai, teased the Voltes V: Legacy figure at the exhibit.
"Man I hope it arrives soon and it's definitely a must add to any Voltes V fan's collection!! Congrats to GMA Network and Riot Inc. Post Production you guys made it!!," one part of the caption read.
Malvin John Lim of greattoysonline.com even gave a sneak peek of the said Voltes V: Legacy figure in person which delights many Pinoy anime fans.
"Philippines, are you ready? Facebook/Greattoys," he said.
Aired from May 8, 2023 to September 8, 2023, Voltes V: Legacy was headlined by Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho, playing the Voltes V team.
Last July, the show participated at the San Diego Comic-Con in partnership with Dogu Publishing.
This is the first time a local TV program got invited at the international comic book convention and became a panel at the prestigious pop culture event.
