Miguel Tanfelix is 'Voltes V: Legacy's Steve Armstrong

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

After much anticipation, it is finally confirmed that Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix is playing the iconic role of Steve Armstrong in the highly-anticipated live-action series Voltes V: Legacy!

The news was officially announced in a February 10 Chika Minute report in 24 Oras, naming Miguel as the oldest Armstrong brother and will pilot the Volt Cruiser (head) of the famous robot.

Based on the popular Japanese anime, Steve Armstrong is known to be a great marksman, a motocross champion, and an ace pilot, making him the Voltes V team leader.

Steve Armstrong will be Miguel's biggest role to date following the success of his many television series in the Kapuso network, including Mulawin vs. Ravena, Kambal Karibal, and Sahaya.

Coincidentally, this is not the first time the 22-year-old would delve into the world of Japanese animation, as it can be recalled that he did the voice-over of Richard Hartford from the popular robot anime Daimos in 2017.

With his boyish charms, unpretentious personality, it's no wonder that Miguel was able to capture director Mark A. Reyes' eye to play the role of Steve Armstrong.

Joining Miguel Tanfelix is Kapuso actress Ysabel Ortega, who is revealed to play Jamie Robinson, Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, Matt Lozano as Big Bert Armstrong, and Raphael Landicho as Little Jon Armstrong.

Voltes V: Legacy is offered by GMA's Entertainment Group Production in partnership with Toei Company, Ltd and Telesuccess Productions, Inc.

Toei Company, Ltd is the name behind the original Japanese animation, while Telesuccess Productions, Inc. created the original English scripts and dubbing back in 1978 and produced the later Tagalog versions.
