Netizens praise Ysabel Ortega's acting in 'Voltes V: Legacy' audition tape

It looks like Kapuso actress Ysabel Ortega is already earning praise from netizens and viewers alike as evidenced by the many positive comments she's received after being announced as Jamie Robinson in the much-awaited Voltes V: Legacy.

Over on YouTube, fans were able to catch a glimpse of Ysabel's performance with a Not Seen on TV clip of her audition tape, which helped her land the role.

Since the airing of the exclusive clip, fans couldn't help but rave about the actress and how she has perfectly captured the role of the Volt Lander pilot.

One netizen said, “Ysabel deserves this role! Sa audition pa lang pinakita na n'ya 'yung best n'ya. Emotions pa lang kitang-kita mo na 'yung ano pinapakita n'ya. Grabe, mas kaabang-abang tuloy ang pag-ere ng 'Voltes V: Legacy!' GMA deserves this!”

Another wrote, “Well deserved naman pala talaga. 'Yung action scene n'ya is for an audition piece at wala pa 'yung formal na training para sa role pero nag-fit na agad at ang ganda n'ya, in fairness, at ang galing pa magsalita! A promising star ng GMA.”

In an interview with 24 Oras, Ysabel said she's been gearing up for her role even during the pandemic -- by engaging in martial arts, muay thai, and kickboxing.

She said, “Even before na mag-start 'yung official training namin, gusto ko nang magkaroon ng kahit kaunting background sa martial arts, kickboxing, muay thai, at I can say na now, I'm more than ready.

“Voltes V: Legacy' has a lot of meaning behind its story. It's not just about family, but it's also about fighting for what you believe in, your country, and being a hero in your own way. I would love to be someone in that position to inspire a lot of people.”

Together with Ysabel is Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong, Matt Lozano as Big Bert Armstrong, Raphael Landicho as Little Jon Armstrong, and Radson Flores as Mark Gordon.
