LOOK: Set ng 'Voltes V: Legacy,' singlaki ng dalawa hanggang apat na basketball court

Sa unang pagkakataon, ipinasilip sa 24 Oras ngayong Martes, June 1, ang interior ng Boazanian Skull Ship, ang isa sa mga set ng much-awaited live-action adaptation ng sikat na Japanese anime na Voltes V: Legacy.

Ayon sa direktor ng programa na si Mark Reyes, inabot ng isang taon ang konstruksyon nito, maging ang set ng Camp Big Falcon at underground base dahil sa laki ng mga ito.

Aniya, "There are separate studios. The one for the Skull Ship, siguro ang laki niya is siguro two basketball courts. 'Yung laki naman ng Camp Big Falcon would be three to four basketball courts. Gan'on kalaki 'yung set, massive. When we saw it, even us were shocked."

Nagsimula na ang lock-in taping ng Voltes V: Legacy kaya hindi napigilang maging emosyonal ni Direk Mark dahil day one daw ito ng walong taon niyang paghihintay.

Ayon pa kay Direk Mark, naisukat na rin daw ng cast ang kanilang costume na mahigit isang taon ding idinisenyo at tinahi dahil bawat detalye daw ay sinusuri.

Bahagi niya, "It has undergone five revisions and is still a work in progress."

Dugtong pa niyang paliwanag, "It's not like Encantadia na we've created. Ito kasi franchise 'to that we have to get approvals from Japan and, siyempre, may mindsets ang mga tao dito, 'yung die hard Voltes V fans, na dapat magandang-maganda 'yan and then we have to update it.

"We have to find a good marriage between the classic Voltes V look and what is acceptable nowadays. Hindi tayo gagawa ng just plain spandex."

Dagdag pa ni Direk Mark, hindi pa sa ngayon mapapanood ang Voltes V: Legacy dahil good things take time.

"We could have moved things faster but the pandemic hit.

"Don't expect this to be ready this year because this is something big and if you really want it good, just the CGI (computer-generated imagery) work alone will take a while."

Ang Voltes V team ay binubuo nina Miguel Tanfelix bilang Steve Armstrong, Ysabel Ortega bilang Jamie Robinson, Radson Flores bilang Mark Gordon, Matt Lozano bilang Big Bert Armstrong, at Raphael Landicho bilang Lil Jon Armstrong.

Samantala, sina Martin Del Rosario at Liezel Lopez naman ang gaganap bilang mga kontrabida na sina Prince Zardoz at Zandra.

Mapanonood din sa Voltes V: Legacy sina Epy Quizon bilang Zuhl, Carlo Gonzalez bilang Draco, Neil Ryan Sese bilang Dr. Hook, at Gabby Eigenmann bilang Commander Robinson.
