Ysabel also learned some techniques in using combat weapons such as nunchaku, a Japanese martial arts weapon consisting of two hardwood sticks joined together by a chain, rope, or thong, and shinken, a sharp-edged sword.

Meanwhile, Ysabel's Voltes V: Legacy co-star Miguel Tanfelix has also begun his training for the much-awaited series. Miguel learns gun firing and motorcycle riding in preparation for his role as Steve Armstrong of the Voltes V team.

The Voltes V team also includes Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, Matt Lozano as Big Bert Armstrong, and child star Raphael Landicho as Lil Jon Armstrong.

Meanwhile, Martin del Rosario, Epy Quizon, Carlo Gonzalez, and Liezel Lopez will play the respective characters of the Boazanians crew, namely Prince Zardoz, Zuhl, Draco, and Zandra.

Voltes V: Legacy, written by Suzette Doctolero and directed by Mark Reyes, bears the potential of being the Philippines's first serious epic sci-fi TV show as it is partnered with Toei Company, Ltd., the same company that brought the robot saga to life, and Telesuccess Productions, Inc.

The network also engaged the services of Riot Inc. Post-Production along with GMA Post Video graphics to handle the CGI and the live-action elements of the story.
