Direk Mark Reyes shares an iconic scene from 'Voltes V: Legacy'

By Dianne Mariano

Voltes V: Legacy director Mark Reyes recently shared a glimpse of the iconic scene from the hit Japanese '70s anime on social media.

In an Instagram post, the esteemed director uploaded a photo showing the same popular scene, where one was taken from the 1977 animated version and the other one from the upcoming live-action adaptation.

As seen in the animated form, the notable scene features the Boazonian Imperial Forces Zhul, Draco, and Zandra staring down on planet Earth from their skull ship.

In the live-action version, the same iconic scene is beautifully replicated as it showed the Boazanians, or the villains of Voltes V, Epy Quizon, Carlo Gonzalez, and Liezel Lopez, who play the aforementioned characters, respectively.

The only difference between the two is that the live-action series has a more crisp and modern detail.

Direk Mark wrote in the caption, “An iconic scene from #voltesvlegacy. From anime to live. #zhul #draco #zandra #nailedit #icanfinallysharethis @epyq @jcgonz @liezel.lopez.”

On December 31, the show released its “One epic ride” featurette on social media and gave an exclusive sneak peek of the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese anime.

Apart from Epy, Carlo, and Liezel, Voltes V: Legacy also stars Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong, Matt Lozano as Big Bert, Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson, Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, and Raphael Landicho at Lil Jon Armstrong.

Also joining the star-studded cast are Martin del Rosario as Prince Zardoz, Gabby Eigenmann as Commander Robinson, and Neil Ryan Sese as Dr. Hook.

Voltes V: Legacy is an exclusive offering of the GMA Entertainment Group. The script of this much-awaited series was written by Suzette Doctolero and approved by Toei Company Ltd. and Telesucess Productions.
