“Sobra akong nagpapasalamat kay Tatay” – Jake Vargas on German Moreno

In his six years as a cast member of Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman, Jake Vargas already considers German “Kuya Germs” Moreno as his second father.

“Tatay” as the youngsters fondly call Kuya Germs, has been a motivator and a mentor to Jake.

“Sobra akong nagpapasalamat kay Tatay (kasi) kung di dahil sa kanya, di ako makikilala ng tao. Siya talaga ‘yung nag-alaga sa amin. Medyo nakaipon na rin ako… Di niya ko pinabayaan, tinulungan niya talaga ko at minahal niya (kaming lahat),” he shared.

The young actor acknowledged that Walang Tulugan has played a key role in his career. “Dito ako nag-umpisa… Dito ako nakilala… Marami akong naging friends. Nandito (ako nag-improve) sa singing, acting, dancing,” he added.

Jake also expressed his gratefulness because he never expected to feel as lucky as he currently does.

“Sobrang di ko ine-expect. Nag-umpisa ako sa wala,” the 21-year-old said.

Additionally, he noted how patience and perseverance are key qualities in any dreamer.
“Kailangan mong pagtiyagaan (lahat). Kailangan maging mabait ka, ‘wag lalaki ulo, saka marunong (ka dapat) rumespeto sa kapwa,” he said.

Asked what his next goals are, he said it’s no longer showbiz-related. What he really wants is to get a degree.

“Gusto ko matapos ‘yung (studies) ko. Kahit na mawala ako sa showbiz, at least may (pinag-aralan) ako. Matapos ko man lang yung college ko. Gusto ko kasi (talaga) mag-Culinary (Arts),” he shared.

Catch Jake in Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman every Saturday and on Sunday All Stars every Sunday.
