GMA SVP Lilybeth Rasonable explains why 'Family History' is the 'best comeback project' for GMA Pictures

GMA Network SVP for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable believes that Family History is the right project for GMA Pictures to make a comeback in the movie-making industry.
During the grand media conference of Family History held this Tuesday afternoon (July 2) in Novotel Hotel in Quezon City, Ms. Rasonable explained to the entertainment press why the Kapuso Network decided to return to filmmaking via Family History.
She said, “It’s been quite a while and we have been wanting to return to the business of making films, but we are looking for the right project to make the re-entry extra special and memorable for the public.
“So when Direk Michael V.’s pitch came along, we talked about it with the management and we found the right reason to make the comeback.”
Rasonable reiterated, “Family History is the right project and we thought it would be the best way to re-enter the filmmaking business.”
Family History is a heartwarming movie about the values of life, marriage, and love.
It boasts a stellar cast which includes premiere movie actress Dawn Zulueta and the Kapuso love team of Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali.
Also part of this huge project are John Estrada, Paolo Contis, Nonie Buencamino, Kakai Bautista, Ina Feleo, Mikoy Morales, Nikki Co, Jemwell Ventinilla, and Vince Gamad.
Kapuso Comedy genius Michael V. also shared to the members of the press how he pitched this project to the GMA-7 bosses.
Direk Michael narrates, “Naalala ko yun nagkaroon tayo ng contract signing and nandoon 'yung three kings ng GMA si FLG (Atty. Felipe L. Gozon), si FSY (Felipe S. Yalong) at saka si JRD (Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.) and I took that as an opportunity,"
He also feels that the creative team of Pepito Manaloto, who is also the same team behind Family History, is ‘ripe’ and ‘ready’ to take on bigger projects aside from a TV show.
“Kasi ang tagal na nangangati ng grupo na gumawa ng project na hindi Pepito Manaloto, something beyond Pepito Manaloto. Even si Direk Bert (de Leon) matagal na niya gusto gumawa ng pelikula.
“Since hindi nga ito Pepito Manaloto the movie, I decided to take the lead na rin and sabihin dun sa grupo na ‘Oh halika na gawa na tayo.'"
Mark your calendars on July 24 and watch Family History in cinemas nationwide.
