'Firefly' receives rave reviews as it reaches number 1 on Amazon Prime Videos Philippines

Firefly, 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, became the top movie on Amazon Prime Video Philippines on the day of its release on the streaming platform.

As the movie became available online, users let everyone know what they felt while watching the movie.

Firefly tells the story of a child named Tonton (Euwenn) and his journey on finding the mythical island of fireflies based on his mother's bedtime story.

Directed by Zig Dulay and written by Angeli Atienza, Firefly won the highly-coveted Best Picture award at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival. It also won Best Screenplay and Best Child Performer for Euwenn Mikaell.

At the inaugural Manila International Film Festival in California, Firefly also won the Best Picture and Best Screenplay awards, alongside Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra and Best Director for Zig.

Firefly also stars Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Cherry Pie Picache, Epy Quizon, and Yayo Aguila. Kapuso actress Max Collins and Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes also have special participations.

Firefly is now available on Amazon Prime Video worldwide.
