RURU RECEIVES THREE AWARDS AT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION

Kapuso artist Ruru Madrid received three citations at his high school graduation: a medal from Congressman Miro Quimbo, another one from Cong. Samuel Ferriol, and The Most Outstanding Performing Artist award, given by his high school alma mater last March 26 at the National Christian Life College (NCLC) in Marikina City.

The new graduate said, “Siyempre sobrang saya ko kasi kumbaga isa ito sa mga pangarap ko tapos natupad na siya. Ito na 'yung naging kinalabasan ng paghihirap ko [sa pag-aaral] since dati pa.”
 
The high school graduate shared he was always doing his best even before he entered showbiz, but he was faced with a tight schedule which affected his studies. He values  education which is why he didn’t quit and still continued with his studies.

“Allow me to extend our heartfelt gratitude and gratefulness to our dear alma mater, the NCLC for making all of us responsible students, loving sons and daughters to our parents and most importantly for drawing us closer to God through academic and spiritual enrichment programs,” the young actor said in his tribute speech on behalf of the graduating class.

The My Destiny actor added there may be thousands of educational institutions around the globe, but his alma mater stands out because of dedication and ministry of teaching. The school served as their second home where they did their best because it has developed their character, confidence, and competence.

“To every achievement that I receive now as a GMA celebrity, my school NCLC is always part of it. May the Lord always bless this humble institution to continue molding the lives of many young people and to continue developing the totality of every individual in our community,” the Kapuso actor thanked his alma mater.
 
“Lastly, let me say this, today we are proud of NCLC, but tomorrow, NCLC will be proud of us,” the “Protégé” contestant concluded his last speech in high school.
 
In an exclusive interview with GMAnetwork.com, he said the school plays a big part in his life, especially in his career as an artist. He narrated when he join the reality artist search, it was his alma mater who showed the most support in text votes, posters and by giving him special exams due to his busy schedule.

What’s next for the Kapuso cutie?
 
The Let The Love Begin lead actor is going to college to get Film as a course in college since he wants to be a director and a filmmaker in the future.

“Hindi naman panghabang buhay ang pag-aartista so naisip ko kapag tumanda ako [at] nahirapan na ako [ay] mag-di-direk na ako [ng mga pelikula],” he further explained.
 
Just like in high school, Ruru will attend college and showbiz at the same time.
 
The Kapuso actor admitted, “Alam kong mahirap pero pipilitin ko hanggang sa makakaya ko na huwag mag-stop [ng school] dahil iba pa rin yung may hawak kang diploma kasi pangarap ko rin 'yun bukod sa pag-aartista kaya gusto ko tuloy-tuloy ako.”

The Sunday All Stars performer looks up to his family as his inspiration for supporting and helping him since he was younger. Aside from his family, he said his fans also inspire him because they are the ones who push him to continue in the industry despite the hardships he experienced.

“Lagi ko nababasa sa Twitter [ang mga cheers nila]. Kanina nakita ko puro “Congratulations!” Sobrang nakakataba ng puso kasi ang dami palang nagmamahal sa akin,” the young actor said, adding, he promises to not let them down and he will continue to make them happy.  
 
Ruru Madrid is one of the graduates this year along with other Kapuso artists Gabbi Garcia, Derrick Monasterio, Miguel Tanfelix, and Renz Valerio.
