5 PWDs travel from Pangasinan to Rizal using just their wheelchairs

Five persons with disability (PWDs) have been pushing their wheelchairs for nearly 200 kilometers just to go back home amid the community quarantine.

According to Cedric Castillo's report on "24 Oras," the group was spotted by a cyclist, Ike Nicdao, on a highway in Paniqui, Tarlac.

They told him that they came all the way from Rosales, Pangasinan. They were unable to get a ride, but they still decided to make their way home to Cainta, Rizal.

All of them wore face masks and have umbrellas attached to their wheelchairs to protect them from the elements as they pushed their way home.

The group was later seen in Calumpit, Bulacan and on Thursday, at the MacArthur Highway in Malolos. One of them already split from the group and headed to Quezon.

The PWDs said they were traveling for six days already and sometimes had to beg for alms. —MGP, GMA News
