Rico Blanco is back with inspiring new anthem 'This Too Shall Pass'

Rico Blanco just released his first solo single in four years, and it's exactly what we need right now.

A rousing anthem, "This Too Shall Pass" means to bring comfort to those needing light and love amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to a press release from Sony Philippines, Rico had felt "powerless" in the current situation and wrote the song from a "place of discomfort and fear."

"My efforts are little in light of a pandemic like this. As big as my imagination is for this song, I also feel that it’s not enough. But it’s what I can do and contribute as a musician," he was quoted as saying.

The OPM artist also said that the song is something that he wants to tell every single person, and he especially wants frontliners to hear it.

"I wasn’t able to give a message to the frontliners, and I feel very guilty about this. I needed to finish this, and I want them to hear this. I know each one of us is going through something. I wrote this song as my way to reach out," he said.

"This Too Shall Pass" is now streaming on all digital platforms worldwide.

Rico is among the many artists who have been sharing music as a way to comfort others and boost morale in this time of crisis.

Many OPM artists also participated in the "Bayanihan Musikahan," a fundraising initiative that aims to help citizens struggling during the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
