Legaspi family shoots ‘Sarap, ’Di Ba?’ in their own home with Zoren as director

Because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the Legaspi family has decided to film the cooking talk show “Sarap, Di Ba?” in their own home!

Aside from having the whole family present during their shoot, the head of the family himself, Zoren, is also the one directing the episodes.

In Cata Tibayan’s report on “24 Oras” Friday, Zoren said it was challenging during their first day of taping for the show, which was hosted by wife Carmina Villarroel and twins Mavy and Cassy.

“Mas mahirap ito kaysa i-direct si Robert de Niro,” Zoren joked.

“Mahirap i-direct si Honey, Mavy, Cassy kasi syempre they know me as tatay, husband, so it’s very normal na ang approach nila sa ’kin ay kaibigan.”

Carmina said her assistant Leslie helped in managing the teleprompter while their house helper checked on the audio and camera.

“Mavy is kinda like the assistant director eh,” said Cassy. “He checks ’yung lighting kung okay camera angle.”

Since the experience was new to them, Cassy said that it was difficult at times.

Apart from having the entire Legaspi family involved in the production, Zoren said the new episodes were special because they didn’t normally show footage of the inside of their home on television.

“Dito kasi sa bahay hindi kami nagpapa-shoot talaga. They get to see our house, may mga secret-secret corner na hindi pa nakikita,” said Zoren. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
