Craving Japanese? Here's how to make Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas' eggplant katsu

If you're looking for a delicious Japanese meal you can make at home, then this eggplant katsu recipe is just for you!

In an "ECQusina" episode on Friday, celebrity couple Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas shared how they make their eggplant katsu, complete with cabbage salad with sesame dressing.

According to the couple, all you'll be needing are eggplants, flour, egg, and bread crumbs.

First, slice the eggplants diagonally and season them with salt and pepper. While you let the vegetable soak the seasoning in, mix two eggs together.

Once 30 minutes have passed, dip the eggplants in the flour, then in the egg mix, and then in the bowl of breadcrumbs.

Now that the eggplant is thick with coating, fry it in a hot pan.

For the sauce, simply mix together ketchup, oyster sauce and Worcestershire sauce. The amount of each ingredient to make the sauce, they said, will depend on your preferred taste.

Once the eggplant katsu and the sauce is all done, you can now make the cabbage salad.

Simply make thin slices of cabbage and pour some sesame dressing over it. If you don't have sesame dressing at home, Christopher shared that you can just mix mayonnaise, sesame oil, salt, pepper, sesame seeds and vinegar to make your own homemade sesame dressing.

Put everything on a plate and voila! You have a scrumptious Japanese meal for lunch.

"ECQusina" is an online show hosted by Kara David that goes live on Facebook every week. Hosts teach viewers how to make tasty dishes just with daily grocery items.

Other celebrities who have appeared in the show are Ken Chan, Katrina Halili and Jelai Andres.
