  • Bell pepper (red and green, minced)
  • Oregano
  • Iceberg lettuce

You're also going to need tomatoes, parsley, spices and chili peppers to make your own salsa.

First, mince all your tomatoes, onions and garlic then toss them into a large pan with some hot oil. After that, add your ground beef and oregano.

As you wait for the beef to cook, get started on your salsa.

Kara tossed some sliced tomatoes together with some green and red bell pepper. Kara added a little green chili peppers, followed by some salt and lemon.

Finally, fry your tortilla chips and chop up some tomatoes, onions, and lettuce for toppings.

During her cooking tutorial, Kara shared that she learned this recipe after living in Mexico for a month.

Kara also shared some trivia about the popular Mexican dish: Did you know that "taco" actually came from an Aztec word that means “half" or "in the middle?"

On "ECQusina," Kara David shows you how how to make the most out of simple ingredients and everyday grocery items at home.
