This Binondo restaurant is over 130 years old. Here's why customers keep coming back

At over 130 years old, The New Toho Food Center is Binondo's oldest restaurant.

Put up by five Chinese immigrants, it was originally called Toho Restaurant Antigue. After it burned down in 1984, it changed its name to The new Toho Food Center.

The name was the only thing that changed. According to Edgar Legua, one of Toho's staff members, people keep coming back because of the unchanged taste of their dishes.

"Talagang binabalikbalikan nila ang lasa. Hindi nagbabago ang timpla at tsaka 'yung mga recipe, hindi paiba iba," Edgar said in an episode of "IRL."

Their best-seller, the Pork Asado, has a recipe that has been passed down to three generations.

Its owner, Alger Wong said, "Ang unique lang dito, same old ingredient ang mga ingredient puro galing sa same old supplier, ever since sa panahon pa ng lolo ko."
