Want to achieve quality sleep? Here are 3 tips to help you do it

Studies have shown that people who don’t get enough or quality sleep are more likely to get sick.

On GMA-7's “Unang Hirit” Thursday, health and wellness advocate Dr. Rhodora Jayme explained how the lack of quality sleep can really “bog down” one’s immune system.

Dr. Jayme also shared the following tips to help viewers at home get some quality Z’s:

1. Daily exercise

Exercise has been shown to improve the quality of sleep.

“Kahit if you are tired, you have to make sure you have to move your body. Mag-exercise ka, kahit 30 minutes,” Dr. Jayme said.

2. No gadgets during bedtime

Some of us might be losing sleep due to anxiety over the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation. Then again, some of us might be staying up on purpose to watch movies or browse the internet.

When trying to get quality sleep, Dr. Jayme said using electronic devices before bed is not a good idea.

3. Try relaxing scents

Calming and relaxing scents can also help you achieve some quality sleep.

“You can use your liniment. Mga pang-haplos, pang-massage. Basta it contains ’yung mga lavender, ’yung mga relaxation and calming effect of the scent. (It) will really help you go to sleep,” Dr. Jayme says. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
