Heart Evangelista reveals skincare routine for brighter, fresher look

Behind every gorgeous look of Heart Evangelista is a perfect skincare routine!

In a vlog on Thursday, Heart revealed her daily skincare routine for a brighter, fresher look.

Since she’s now 35 years old, the actress said she needed more time to take care of herself.

“I just realized as you get older, there’s just more time you need to spend with yourself, to really take care of you, and for me, aside from working out, drinking lots of water and vitamins, and praying a lot, meditating, skincare is one of the things that really uplifts my spirit,” she said.

To get Heart’s fresh and bright look, listed below are steps the actress swears by!

1. Drybrushing

According to the actress, drybrushing has been one of her favorite steps in her daily routine.

“Find a brush that’s very soft,” she said. “For those with sensitive skin, don’t rub it too much.”

Drybrushing, Heart said, helps your body get rid of toxins and helps you kickstart your day.

Simply add lotion or body oil on a soft brush and “start brushing toward the heart.”

2. Depuffing

Heart said depuffing should be the vital first step before putting anything on your face.

“I puff a lot. I get puffiness under my eyes ... There are just days that are really, really bad,” she said. “Just a little salt, I really get puffy.”

To reduce puffiness, Heart said she used a depuffing wand, which she would store in a freezer.

3. Double cleansing

Heart said that since she uses a lot of makeup on her face for work, it’s important to double cleanse.

If she doesn’t use micellar water, she uses a brightening C-pad to clear her skin.

“As I got older I developed a lot of melasma and freckles,” Heart said. “I mean I love my freckles but the melasma kind of bothers me.”

However, she noted that people must first consult with a doctor before using medicated pads on their face.

4. Using sunblock

Since we’re always exposed to ultraviolet light, Heart said it was important to put on sunblock every day.

For the actress, however, she loved putting on sheets of gold called gold leaf in her sunblock. Gold leaf, she said, had ions and is good for anti-aging and preventing wrinkles.

5. Applying serum

Heart said you should apply serum on your face before putting on any cream.

“This one gets absorbed by your skin faster,” she shared.

After letting the serum dry, you can now move on to the next step!

6. Putting on eye cream

“Don’t forget your eyes,” Heart said. Eye cream, she said, is an important part of your skincare routine.

Despite the many facilities and devices that offer eye treatments now, the actress said that she was still scared to try them.

“Actually I developed a cyst on the clear film on my eye so I’m scared of putting on my eyes,” she said. “So I just use anti-aging cream on my eyes every morning, every night.”

7. Trying on LED gadgets

LED gadgets, Heart said, are good investments for people who are hesitant to go out and visit their dermatologist.

Applying anti-aging cream, she then used her LED light wand to massage her face and spread the cream.

The actress said this should be done once a week for only five minutes.

Another device Heart used was the LED mask. She would use this for 10 minutes every night before going to sleep. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
