Jessica Villarubin opens up about being bullied for her looks

“The Clash” season 3 grand champion Jessica Villarubin is now at her most confident after undergoing cosmetic surgery during her short break.

On Cata Tibayan’s report on Tuesday’s “24 Oras,” the singer shared that she was happy with the result of the procedure.

“’Yung feeling ko ngayon is sobrang saya po. I feel more confident and ngayon po, masaya lang po talaga ’yung nararamdaman ko,” she said.

(I feel super happy now. I feel more confident and now, happiness is the only thing I feel.)

She said she hoped for everyone’s support because she did this for herself. “Sana maintindihan niyo po ’yung naging desisyon ko ngayon kasi masaya naman po ako.”

(I hope you understand my decision because I am happy with it.)

When she was a contestant on “The Clash,” Jessica shared that she had experienced being bullied for her appearance.

“Sumali po ako sa contest noon ta’s may isang tao po na sabi ‘nandito na naman yung ’di maganda, maganda lang ’yung boses.’ Masakit po siya sa ’kin,” she said.

(I joined a contest before and someone said, “the ugly one’s here again, only her voice is beautiful.” It’s painful for me.)

The changes were done by Dr. Vicki Belo, who made sure that Jessica wouldn’t lose her natural charm.

“Ikaw pa rin naman eh. Hindi naman nagbago na sobrang layo pero ang pinakamagaling na enhancement is when people don’t know. They just say something’s new with you,” she said.

(It’s still you. The changes aren’t drastic but the best enhancement is when people don’t know. They just say something’s new with you.)

From having long black hair, the Power Diva from Cebu is now sporting a mid-length bob cut with layers.

She made her first public appearance since the surgery on “All Out Sundays,” where she sang her latest single “Ako Naman.”

Jessica was named the grand champion of the third season of “The Clash” in December 2020, where she sang Wency Cornejo’s “Habang May Buhay” for her winning piece.
