Despite his status as a world-acclaimed designer, Furne One knows how to honor and look back at his roots.

After learning that he will be designing for the first Miss Universe Philippines pageant, Furne said he feels grateful to have been given this opportunity to support his country and the Filipino women joining.

"I'm very flattered and honored because from the past and my present and my future I have always been supportive to my country Philippines," Furne told GMA News Online in an exclusive virtual interview via Zoom.

"I'm doing a lot of shows abroad like in Paris, New York, Miami, London but it's always my greatest honor to give back to the Philippines and to be supporting the phenomenal women in the Miss Universe Philippines," he added.

While he admitted there was a short timeframe to work on the swimwear and couture jackets, Furne said it's never about the speed.

"It's all about the determination, dedication, and the passion, my passion for the Philippines will always outweigh any factor such as the timeframes," he said.

Furne is the fashion genius behind Dubai-based Amato Couture, which has dressed a number of celebrities including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry among others.
