Computer business owner pays it forward, donates supplies to students, teachers

A computer sales and repair business owner in Tarlac has been donating supplies to students and teachers in several areas all over the Philippines since his business recovered amid the pandemic.

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras,” Tuesday, Jess Yanga’s business took a big hit when the pandemic struck. However, when online classes began, his company slowly recovered.

“Unlike sa iba, siguro 80% of the business nagsasara. Eh kami kabaligtaran po nangyari samin,” Jess said.

Instead of just keeping his blessings to himself, he decided to give school materials to the teachers and students in need.

Initially, Jess said he planned only to help within his municipality in Concepcion, Tarlac, but soon, he found himself donating bond paper and ink supplies to over 50 schools within and outside the province, including a school for Aetas up in the mountains.

“Nangyari niyan maraming nag-reach from other province na humihingi ng tulong.

Jess shared he also took in broken printers and laptops so he could repair them and donate it to those in need.

– Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
