Andi Eigenmann’s surfer partner Philmar Alipayo goes freediving

Freediving is not for the faint hearted, but it doesn’t seem to be a biggie for Andi Eigenmann’s partner Philmar Alipayo.

The Siargao-based surfer just posted some awesome underwater shots at the Solitude Acacia Resort in Batangas on Instagram.

Based on his caption, the Pinoy athlete was not 14 feet but 14 meters in the deep — Sick!

Freediving is a bit different from scuba diving in that divers rely solely on their ability to hold their breath for long periods of time.

Philmar Alipayo is obviously at home in the waters. Apart from being a professional surfing champion, he's also taken up spearfishing during lockdown. It really only made sense for him to try his hand on freediving.

Philmar and Andi Eigenmann welcomed their first child Lilo in July last year.

The Siargao-based couple was reunited only recently in Metro Manila where Andi and her daughters have been spending the past several months amid the COVID-19 pandemic. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
