Melissa McCarthy to play Ursula in 'The Little Mermaid' live action film

We have our Ursula, and it's none other than Melissa McCarthy!

Disney made the announcement on Friday as it unveiled the cast members of its live action adaptation of the classic "The Little Mermaid."

Joining McCarthy and Halle Bailey, who was previously announced to play Ariel, are Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric and Javier Bardem as King Triton.

"Hamilton" star Daveed Diggs will be playing Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay will be playing Flounder, and "Crazy Rich Asians" star Awkwafina will be playing Scuttle.

Disney also confirmed that Alan Menken, the composer of the original scores in the animated film, will be working with "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda for the music.

Reports about Disney's production of the live action "The Little Mermaid" surfaced as early as 2016.

In 2018, director Rob Marshall confirmed that he was working on the film. —JCB, GMA News
