'Percy Jackson' author Rick Riordan says everyone who read the TV pilot script 'loves it'

It looks like the television adaptation of the popular book series "Percy Jackson" is off to a good start.

Author Rick Riordan, who is working closely with Disney for the series production, shared that the pilot script got a thumbs up from those who read it so far.

"Everyone who has read the pilot script loves it, but there will be a few additional tweaks we need to make before we send it off to its next stop: the top execs at Disney+," he wrote in his website

.

He added that he had important meetings with the "top brass at the studio for the Percy Jackson TV show, so keep your fingers crossed."

"Everyone is committed to making this the best show we possibly can. I remain excited and guardedly optimistic that we are on the verge of getting a really first-rate project off the ground," he said.

In December, Riordan shared a short clip of the show's logo on TikTok, saying that it had "still a long way to go but I am so excited!"

He announced that the Disney+ series is in the works back in May, assuring that he was personally involved in the production.

"Percy Jackson & the Olympians" is a series of books that brings to life Greek mythology as it tells the story of Percy, a once normal boy who discovers he is the son of Poseidon when he comes of age.

Two live action films have adapted the first two novels of the series: "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" in 2010 and "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" in 2013. —JCB, GMA News
