DTI to barber shops set to reopen on June 7: Follow health protocols

Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez on Saturday reminded barber shops that are allowed to reopen on June 7 strictly follow health protocols under the general community quarantine (GCQ).

At the Laging Handa briefing, Lopez said, "Required sa barber shops ay disinfectants, hand sanitizers, and employees should wear personal protective equipment such as masks, face shields, gloves, and equipment need to be disinfected.

Barber shops are set to reopen on June 7 in Metro Manila.

For dine-in restaurants, that might reopen in two weeks' time at 50% capacity, they should have foot baths, temperature scanners, and the cashier should have a divider, those paying in cash should observe proper handling of the money, Lopez said, adding that the dine-in areas should have enough space for the observance of physical distancing.

Also, he reminded establishments to have a checklist for symptoms of coronavirus, and face masks should be in place. He added that the  DTI is working on a technohub for effective contract tracing.

He clarified that relaxing the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to general community quarantine (GCQ) does not mean that the pandemic is over.

"Nandiyan pa po ang pandemic. Dapat doble ang pag-iingat. Sumunod sa mga patakaran," he pointed out. –LBG, GMA News
