Jollibee to open 28 stores in North America in 2021

Fast-food chain Jollibee is set to add 28 new stores in 2021 in North America, the company said in a press release.

Nineteen new stores will be opened in the US and nine will be opened in Canada.

This represents the largest addition to the company’s North American store network, the fast-food chain said.

In 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Jollibee opened 12 new stores in North America so far.

The company is set to open five more stores this month: on NW Loop 410 in San Antonio, Texas; in San Diego, California; on Westheimer Road in Houston; Delano, California; and Yonge Street, Toronto, Canada.

"This month we will be opening long-awaited stores across Texas, California, and Ontario, Canada. We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support we’ve received from across these regions and are thrilled to deliver a small spark of joy as we enter the holiday season,” Maribeth Dela Cruz, president of Jollibee Group North America, Philippine Brands, said.

Amid the pandemic, Jollibee offered call ahead pick-up and nationwide delivery service via DoorDash. Customers could also do take-out and drive-thru. Dining rooms will remain closed until further notice to provide a safe environment for customers and Jollibee employees, the company said.

“We have remained nimble and optimistic which has led Jollibee to defy expectations amidst an extremely difficult year and experience double-digit sales growth across North America,” Dela Cruz said. —KG, GMA News
