Gasoline, diesel, kerosene prices to be hiked anew Tuesday

Motorists will have to pay more for petroleum products this week as oil firms announced price increases, marking the third straight week of hikes for gasoline, eighth for diesel, and second for kerosene.

In an advisory separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., and Seaoil Philippines Inc. said it they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.20, diesel by P0.55, and kerosene by P0.60.

Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., and PTT Philippines Corp. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which it does they do not carry.

Cleanfuel will also carry out the same adjustments for diesel, while maintaining prices of gasoline.

The changes will take effect 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will adjust prices 4:01 p.m., and Caltex at 12:01 p.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy show that year-to-date adjustments stand at a total net increase of P9.30 per liter for gasoline, P7.60 per liter for diesel, and P6.10 per liter for kerosene as of June 1, 2021. — RSJ, GMA News
