Maynilad announces water service interruption due to Laguna Lake turbidity

The Maynilad Water Services, Inc. on Tuesday announced it will implement temporary water service interruption in several areas due to the rise in the turbidity level of Laguna Lake due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

This resulted in decreased production to ensure the quality of the water being supplied to customers, Maynilad said on Twitter.

The company said it has to undertake urgent maintenance work on ultrafiltration membranes and dissolved air flotation system at Putatan Water Treatment Plants to ensure their filtration capacity.

From January 5 to 20, customers in parts of Metro Manila and Cavite will experience water service interruption.

Below is the list of areas affected.

Customers were advised to stock up on water when supply is available.

Maynilad said it will have water tankers ready to supply clean water to affected communities.

After water supply resumes, customers were also advised to let the water run through first until it comes out clear.

Meanwhile, in a separate advisories on Tuesday and Wednesday, Maynilad said some of its customers in Las Pinas City, Muntinlupa City, and Paranaque City will have low pressure to no water supply, also due to the water quality of Laguna Lake.
