Barangay 28 in Caloocan under extreme ECQ

A barangay in Caloocan City has been placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Bam Alegre's report on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

Barangay 28 will be under extreme ECQ from May 26 to 31. Under this, only essential workers are allowed to leave their homes and quarantine passes will not be honored. Only two water refilling stations and one pharmacy in the barangay are allowed to operate.

There are 28 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the barangay.

The barangay's quarantine facility, however, has only 15 beds, prompting officials to put the other COVID-19 patients to quarantine facilities in other barangays.

Rapid tests will be conducted while the area is under extreme ECQ. --KBK, GMA News
