2 areas at QC barangay placed under special concern lockdown


Two areas at a Quezon City barangay have been placed under special concern lockdown (SCL) due to a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.

Assistant City Administrator Alberto Kimpo said these areas 138 Ermin Garcia St. and 52 Imperial St., both at Barangay E. Rodriguez.

From two, the number of active cases in these areas jumped to 15 after Metro Manila eased into a general community quarantine, said Kimpo.

Rapid diagnostic testing (RDT) on residents will be conducted on Monday, followed by confirmatory tests.

Authorities meanwhile are considering placing Cadena de Amor St. at Barangay Central under SCL after three positive COVID-19 cases were recorded in two different households. The three are under home quarantine and have already been tested.

Areas still under SCL are Sitio Militar at Barangay Bahay Toro, Calle 29 at Barangay Libis, and Kaingin Bukid at Barangay Apolonio Samson.

Earlier, the local government lifted the SCL in the following areas with no more new COVID-19 cases:

Dakila St., Kalayaan B, and Masbate St. in Barangay Batasan Hills; Vargas St., GK Ancop, and Certeza Compound in Barangay Culiat; Lower Gulod in Barangay Sauyo; Victory Ave, BMA Ave., Agno St., and ROTC Hunters in Barangay Tatalon; and Howmart Road in Barangay Baesa.
