Taguig mayor says operations at PSE back to normal

The Philippine Stock Exchange Inc. (PSE) has already resumed its normal operations after it shut down its office last month due to a confirmed COVID-19 case in the building, Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano said Tuesday.

"Normal na ho ang operation sa Philippine Stock Exchange, kung may mareport ulit, uulitin lang natin ito... So sa isang kaso, marami ang nagpositibo, sinara natin. Sa isang kaso, walang nagpositibo, sinara natin isang araw..." Cayetano said at a press conference.

He said immediate contact tracing was done to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection at the PSE. Initially, the patient have five close contacts, according to Cayetano.

"We did our expanded contact tracing and expanded testing. Kung sa dati ho, lima lang 'yung tetest natin, ngunit agresibo tayo, 'yung ginawa natin 'yung 70... lahat ho negative," Cayetano said.

It was on June 24 when the PSE closed its headquarters after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The PSE said the stock market trading was not be affected by the closure of the trading floor as trading participants are equipped to conduct offsite trading.—AOL, GMA News
