Let’s focus on COVID first, Mayor Isko says when asked about 2022 plans

“Tumakbo ka kasi may COVID. Hahaha!”

This was Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s initial reply on Thursday when asked if he plans to run for president in the 2022 elections.

The mayor then turned serious, saying he would rather focus on the Manila City government’s response to the pandemic.

“Let us focus on this on top of everything. Ito na muna. Basta yung paghahanda muna sa pandemya. Kasi there is no point to govern kung ubos na yung mamamayan mo,” Moreno said.

“What you are expecting from us is for us to do our job, more than anything else. Umaasa talaga ang tao. Wala nang ibang tatakbuhan ang utaw ngayon kundi gobyerno, wala nang iba,” he added. — BM, GMA News
