Suspect in carnapping, murder cases in Eastern Visayas nabbed in Taguig

Authorities arrested in Taguig City on Friday a man suspected of being involved in carnapping and murder cases in Eastern Visayas.

The suspect was identified as Rowegie Anlio alias Egie, 32, residing in Taguig City, according to Philippine National Police chief Police General Debold Sinas, based on a report of National Capital Region Police Office chief Police Major General Vicente Danao Jr. 

He was arrested by operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group-Regional Intelligence Division, NCRPO together with NDIT, Regional Intelligence Unit-NCR, Regional Intelligence Division-PRO8; and Regional Highway Patrol Unit-8, Sinas said.

The suspect is on Region 8's most wanted list.

Judge Eligio Petilla of Regional Trial Court Branch 44 in Tacloban City previously issued a warrant of arrest in 2014 for the suspect with no bail recommended.

Sinas lauded the NCRPO and Police Regional Office (PRO 8) for nabbing the suspect who was hiding for seven years. —KG, GMA News
