UST halts classes, work until April 11 amid COVID-19 surge

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila on Monday declared work and class suspension until April 11, Sunday, due to the rise in the number of COVID-19 infections in the country.

"In order to allow our stakeholders to focus on their health and family concerns in light of the spike in COVID-19 cases, the suspension of classes and office work is extended to Sunday, April 11," an advisory from the university's Office of the Secretary General read.

Over the weekend, the university cancelled onsite work until April 11 due to the extension of the enhanced community quarantine

in NCR plus bubble areas. 

The bubble covers Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan and Rizal.

 

On Sunday, the country logged 795,051 total COVID-19 infections with 646,100 recoveries and 13,425 deaths. —Consuelo Marquez/KBK, GMA News
